Two years after the release of Rust In Peace and just when the dust from their nuclear holocaust had began to settle down, Megadeth unleashed their fifth hit on humanity, titled just as properly, Countdown To Extinction. That self-centered bastard called Mustaine has almost totally expelled his self destructing tendencies that marched along with his genius, or even better, he fitted them in his music. He is following a procedure of cleansing and with the help of his teammates he creates another heavy metal masterpiece. He is being in peace with himself and has finally realized who he is and what he can offer.

It was a matter of time for Friedman and Menza to fully adjust themselves to the band and its needs and now they contribute to the song writing and the lyrics. Even the low-profile Dave Ellefson composed his own parts for the bass. If this not a sign of improvement then I don’t know what is. The chemistry of the album is based not on drugs and dope but on the friendly climate and bonding between the musicians. The music is very heavy, somewhat denying the speed chapter but investing on classic, traditional metal. The main ingredients of this album are inspiration, melody, technique and feeling. Most of the lyrics give out bitterness but at times they reflect optimism and hope. Once again Megadeth deal with a variety of themes like war, drugs, politics and even nature. In terms of music, the basic elements of Megadeth are found here. From the weird singing of Mustaine, the firm bass guitar, the dynamic drums to the superb, typical riffs, this is a pure Megadeth album with less speed but with balls of metal. Friedman is once again in great shape and delivers tremendous guitar playing. His riffs are exciting and strong, his solos inspired and melodic without losing their metal feeling. Menza’s skillful drumming gives the appropriate push to the songs and Ellefson offers the best with his steady, firm bass lines. All these fit perfectly with the familiar vocals creating an insane atmosphere (*review by EverMetal )

After the controversial Super Collider, Dave Mustaine decided to fire Shawn Drover and Chris Brodderick. The band needeed a consistent formation and an album to show what they’re still capable of being a still relevant band. Two new guys were brought: Chris Adler, the drummer of Lamb Of God, and Kiko Loureiro, the legendary guitarrist from the brazilian power metal band Angra. The desire of Mustaine to prove that he can still make relevant songs again make Dystopia one of their strongest efforts since Rust In Peace. The first thing we can note listening to this album is a return to the more heavy and thrashy roots of Megadeth. It is not heavy as the first albums but is still heavier than Th1rt3en and the extremely commercial Super Collider, the last albuns with the last known line up. Again, Mustaine follows his politics themes in the entire album, sometimes making interesting critics and in others, sounding like a total patriot lunatic. “Dystopia” is a great title track and represents the album pretty well: solid writing, great riffs, fast playing and melodic solos. The decision of adopting a more clean production allows the listener to note how well done the guitars are here and makes the bass audible, giving heaviness to this work. Kiko shows how talented he is in his style of playing and along with Mustaine shines in the tracks “Poisonous Shadows” and “Conquer or Die”. The problem with the very clean production is how it affects Mustaine’s voice. Sometimes, he feels like a robot talking, taking out the agression that he was known in the past while singing. But luckily, it doesn’t happens all the time. In the year of 2016, we had several thrash metal albums shining. Dystopia is not a return to the old speed metal style from the early years of Megadeth, but it is the their most strong effort since 1990. We can define the sound here as a evolution from everything that the band has been doing in all those years: a tribute to the past looking forward to the future. unofficial but very nice compilation with eighteen tracks appeared in five EP's recorded by the band from 1993 to 2016. Here are we go with this great and already legend band which is still quite unknown even in the hardcore punk scene. Their sound continue to be noisy and dirty, and quite speed tempo, in the UK 82 bands, you know. is moderately fast, but not hardcore. And also never forget the jokes and good humor of the singer, Simon, with a peasant and almost rural voice... ha ha! Chaos UK started late 1979 and still active despite all these years. They have made good splits next to Extreme Noise Terror, Concrete Sox, Fuk or Raw Noise to mention a few. So this compilation exist at the moment just on digital format but is a perfect way to enjoy these guys during fourty minutes. Enjoy it

This was the first CHAOS UK album from the 90s decade and included some new tracks and also old classic songs. Firstly released by brittish label "Vinyl Japan Records" in 1991 and late there were different releases in labels such as Toy's Factory Records (in 1992) or "Creative Man Records" (1998). I think the problem with CHAOS UK is they have made too much compilation, live albums, ep´s and splits next to other bands... and sometimes it's a little bit difficult to know wich are their official full lenght albums. This one here like other titles (of course) is an official album and perhaps one of its complete discography, despite is also maybe one of the most forgotten. Very good quality sound, production and also good songs. The band started in 1979 and is still active, making live concerts from time to time in UK, Europe, USA and Japan.

CHAOS UK are an english hardcore punk band formed in 1979 in Portishead, near Bristol. They played fast aggressive hardcore punk rock initially. The original line up of Simon on vocals, Andy on guitar, Chaos (aka "Lice") on bass and Potts on drums recorded two EP's and a full LP for Riot City Record. In the process they along with fellow Bristolians Disorder and Stoke's Discharge revolutionised the hardcore punk scene. In particular the Japanese 80's hardcore punk bands were heavily influenced by CHAOS UK and Disorder's brutal take on punk. CHAOS UK's debut LP was notable in the fact that the band's label claimed it was the "fastest, noisiest LP in the cosmos" in the short lived "Punk Lives" magazine; vocal duties on this recording were also handled by bassist Chaos.

sometimes, you wake up to the news that the president of the US is doubling down on white supremacist rhetoric (again), and you just want to listen to some music that sounds like the world exploding. Future Terror have your back. Future Terror are a Richmond, Virginia band who play squalid, anarchist and vegan crust punk. Their sound nods back to the crusty d-beat gods of the early 80s, but it really sounds more like straight-up chaos than like any particular subgenre. After releasing two EPs, 2017’s We’re All Fucked and 2018’s Toxic Greed, Future Terror have just come out with Plague, their first full-length. God Dementia is a new band/project of Zack from Dead For Days. For those of you that knew and liked his previous band - there is some bad news. Dead For Days is now more like Dead For Sure or Dead For Real. Don’t despair though and keep reading because music from his new band, which evolved from simple brutal death metal into neck breaking, groove laden, grinding death/thrash, is a thing of ass kicking beauty and anybody in the right mind should be checking it out.

The line-up of this new ensemble consists of pretty much Dead For Days/Reign Inferno dudes (in case you were wondering) and you can be sure as heck they are more than capable of playing their instruments to make this thing into a beast. The only thing that changed from before though is position of second guitarist which on this album was taken by Rick Hernandez. For the less fortunate when it comes to memory cells: Rick was/is taking the position of drummer in other above mentioned bands. If it comes to the music, Zack composed and arranged all of it and he also wrote all the lyrics. All of them recorded it together although and it came together quite impressively. It became more advanced in arrangements department than it was before I believe, but also more interesting because of the amount of new ideas they’ve decided to use this time around. From the very beginning all the way to the end Consuming The Delusional is a full-on attack on religion, government, social life and propaganda. Vocals are very aggressive and sound awesomely pissed off laying it all out and combined with ever-present vicious drum attack, rumbling of very tense bass lines and thick layered riffage of guitars do not leave much time (if any) to catch your breath. Amount of riffs that Zack puts into his songs is insane and knowing that he already got enough material for another album makes you wonder about his mental state. Production deserves an honorable mention here since all and everything is easily recognizable and definitely adds to sharpness of the album itself. Music on the album doesn’t ever ease off or give you any relief; it is tensely packed with fierce energy, a brutal force and relentless attacks from all possible directions. It is a deliberate attack on ones sanity and - takes this as a warning - if you are not ready for such thing, prepare yourself for a vicious and possibly bloody ear thumping.

One of the most energy packed albums I’ve heard in a while so at this point the only thing that’s left for me to say is: steer your attention towards God Dementia because new album Consuming The Delusional is as solid as they come, and it gets better after every listen. It is also an excellent come back for our composing guitar grinder Zack and I’m sure that him and the boys will take any and all support that can be given in any way (*Review by Tom Ecki ).

Despised Icon is a Canadian deathcore band from Montreal, Quebec. Formed in 2002, the band is noted for the talent of its drummer, Alex Pelletier, whom makes frequent use of the blasting technique, as well as for its dual lead vocalists; Alex Erian and Steve Marois. Erian makes use of a mid-range growl technique while Marois performs high-pitched fry shrieks, deeper growled vocals and pig squeals. In April 2010, the band disbanded, but officially reformed four years later in February 2014. Collectively the group has released five full-length albums while succumbing to very few lineup changes throughout their run.
