“Circle Jerk” is a slang term referring to the positive feedback loop that can occur when ideas and beliefs are reinforced within a group or subculture’s enclosed space. The phenomenon is typically observed on websites that consists of self-contained forums for specific interests or subcultures. The term “circle jerk” was initially used to describe a sexual practice in which a group of men masturbate themselves or each other while sitting in a circle. The earliest known use of the term dates back to 1979, when the Los Angeles punk band the Bedwetters renamed their band to the Circle Jerks after one of the band members found it in a dictionary of English slang words. While there are digital footprints of its usage on Usenet newsgroups in the 1980s and 1990s, "circle jerk’ largely remained an offline slang term. "Wonderful" which at the first time had a kind of bad reception, bad reviews and not much good general opinion in the hardcore punk scene of 1985, has become in one of the best and most original CIRCLE JERKS album ever recorded. The true is the album is closer to classic rhythm'n'blues, hard rock and even heavy metal, but it continue to be a punk rock recording both, musically and lyrical, and one proof could be the several re-issues made by different record labels since 1985 until nowadays.
