Country:  UK
City:  Edinburgh
Label:  Warner Music
Format:  CD , LP
Tracks:  11
Time:  36 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:    Goth        Punk        Hardcore

Controversial british band formed in Edinburgh late 1979 by vocalist Wattie Duncan, (and also professional soldier), his brother and two more musicians. Since then the band has recorded several albums mostly fast punk hardcore oriented with also few thrash metal influences. The only one exception was this "horror epics" which the band decided to writen songs closer to gothic music, with electronic drums, reverb effects in voice and chorus and a general sound production close to dark atmospheres. Even lyrically some songs could be labelled as "horror punk" or simply death rock. The release was issued firstly in 1984 in US and one year later in the rest of the world, with some re-issues made by different record labels. Recommended for those who use to dislike The Exploited typical albums.

"War now + Jesus is dead"
Year:  1988
Country:  UK
City:  Edinburgh
Label:  Rough justice
Format:  CD , LP
Tracks:  10
Time:  30 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:        Punk        Hardcore

In 1988 the band recorded  a new mini-album entitled "War now", which was made also next to another mni-album "Jesus is dead" becoming as an unofficial album on CD, LP and cassette format. This recording from 1988 could be their last classic fast punk just before to writen songs into thrash metal or crossover thrash as next to albums "Massacre"and "Beat the bastards". The song in these two mini-albums together sound to classic punk 82, punk hardcore or whatever related, but perhaps the quality sound is a bit poor, even a bit lo-fi. About lyrics they continue to deal the same subjects as always: nihilism, violence, war, etc.

"The massacre"
Year:  1990
Country:  UK
City:  Edinburgh
Label:  Nuclear Blast
Format:  CD , LP
Tracks:  12
Time:  44 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:        Crossover Thrash

This is perhaps their most controversial album, due their writen texts added inside, which the band affirmed their agrly with Dead Kennedys, Septic Death and "Maximun Rock'n'Roll" members too. Both, band and fanzine, had several disputes with the band and their singer Wattie Bucan during the 80's decade. Strictly musical this is perhaps the album closer to heavy metal or crossover thrash, and in 1990 had not much succes in the scene and general public. Despite this first small "failure" the album got more popularity with the pass of the years, and was re-issued by several record labels in different countries. In 2014 was the turn of "Nuclear Blast" which decided also to re-issued the album plus some bonus tracks and some changes in the artwork and on three formats: CD, LP and cassette.

"fuck the system"
Year:  2003
Country:  Scotland,  UK
City:  Edinburgh
Label:  Nuclear Blast
Format:  CD , LP
Tracks:  13
Time:  33 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:        Punk        Hardcore

Early 00's the group abandoned definetilly their metal, thrash and crossover influences, to record again an album in their pure and typical style aka fast punk, punk 82 or simply punk hardcore as their classic albums. The answer was positive and more than satisfactory and after to sign with label "Dream Catcher" there were more labels interested in re-issue this album as "Nuclear Blast" and others. This time The Exploited declared their no one relation with fascism, racism or similar totalitarian ideologies, and their members declared this concept in different ways such as: writen (in interviews, patches, logos, etc.) and orally (in live concerts, etc).
