Hatebreed is an American hardcore band from Connecticut founded
in 1994. They are known for their hardcore sound that blends "new school
hardcore" incorporing slow and calm elements as well as neo
thrash-metal influences. The band is part of the early 1990s straight
edge hardcore scene along with other bands like Earth Crisis, All Out
War, Integrity, Madball, Bio-Hazard, Sick Of It All and Converge. The
band's frontman Jamey Jasta refers to the band's style as "Celtic Frost Hardcore".
This album from 1997 was just the debut long album of the band and
there are many people considered it as the best of its discography not
just for strictly musical reasons but for another things such as:
honestity, sincerity and strong straight edge principles.
