MASTIC SCUM is an Austrian grindcore band founded in 1992. The band consists of founding members Harry (guitar), Man (drums) and Maggo (vocals, since 2008) and Much (bass, since 2005). They used to write lyrics about social issues, politics, feelings, etc. something like “mincecore”, but has different musical sources from thrash metal to crust, punk, etc. They released the following three albums: Zero (1999), Scar (2002), Mind (2005). They has also released splits with Agathocles, Rotten Sound, Haemorrhage, C.S.S.O., Senseless, Blockheads, Mixomatosis, Malignant Tumour and Fleshless. Its debut demo tape and next split ep's, sound quite to orthodox grindcore, but just here in its debut long album "Zero", MASTIC SCUM started to experiment with another musical styles, some ones quite similar (metal, hardcore, etc.) but also with electronic noise, industrial and ambient sounds.
