INSTINCT CONTROL

"Part No."
Year:  2012
Country:  US
City:  Chicago , ILL
Artist:   Ryan T. Dunn
Label:  Lisentric
Format:  CD
Tracks:  5
Time:  40 min.
Genre:  electronic
Style:       Noise        Circuit Bending

After "Internal Logic" (2011) Ryan T. Dunn decided to recorded a new long album entitled "Part no." which has five tracks quite similar to precedent album, but perhaps less inspired. I am not sure why but I prefer "Internal logic" than this one. The reasons... I have no idea. I just listened and I decided. The style is very similar: abstract, circuit bent, strange objects, no human voices, etc. This charismatic artist, who we all remember him for his long beard and experimental noises does not disappoint with this new album at all. Taste it. Typed info on appropriated numbered medical charting paper and gardening mesh in a vinyl sleeve. You can still to buy this physical CD HERE .

Ryan T. Dunn is a Chicago based audio / visual artist since early 2003 and founder of "Liscentric Records" in 2005. Recorded and released for an INSTINCT CONTROL NYC visit as part of the separately sold two disc set Internal Logic / External Notion. A only one track of 22 minutes but full of changes of intensity, texture, volume, distortion and a long list of really little noise result to experiment with circuit bending and other technical resources. Abstract circuit bending: he builds his Own "alien" instruments and this is an insightful recording on the subject of circuit bending, an art based on the modification of existing electronic circuits in order to unveil hidden features within them, specifically related to sonic output. The result can to evolution to the extremes, a great succes or a horrible failure.
