"O esplendor natural das coisas..." is an electroacoustic piece whose construction is inspired by the writing of the portuguese author Antonio Lobo Antunes (1942). The title mixes a few of his books titles as well. Three distinct compositions (stories?) are intricate one on others, their own developments becoming fragments of a new whole one. The piece is separated in "chapters", with 15 seconds of silence in between, to create breathing in the dense flow of sounds, but in no case really indicating a notion of parts. What could seems a static proposition, with its obstinate redundancies, slowly opens its secrets. "O esplendor natural das coisas e inferno" ("the natural splendour of things and hell") is a conceptual exercise to break with habits by setting rules of composition abstracted to any musical intention at first.
